From Idea
In the fall of 2004 Doug Taylor learned about podcasting from Adam Curry. Intrigued by this new technology and encouraged by what it could mean for the world, Doug began to sketch a design of what would later become PodcastPeople.com. It was also that year that Doug reached out to Matthew Bischoff, son of a neighborhood friend. Matt was the first teenager to create a podcast in the world and seemed like a great person to have on the team.
To Construction
Throughout 2005, Doug and Matt where making tremendous progress with overall design, wire framing, and business model development. It was time to hire a development team to begin construction of the new platform that would allow anyone with a computer and a connection to the Internet to record and distribute a podcast in under 5 minutes to a worldwide audience. That may not seem like a big deal in 2017 but in 2005 it took an experienced hacker 2-3 weeks to accomplish the same thing that our software would do in under 5 minutes.
